Peak Packaging Ltd enters Bag In Box Market
Peak Packaging Ltd based in Ilkeston has acquired Liqui-box’s bag-in-box business with customers based in the UK.
The transition gives effect to undertakings entered into by Liqui-box with the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) in respect of Liqui-box’s proposed acquisition of the flexible and rigid plastic packaging division of DS Smith PLC.
Established in 1992 Peak Packaging is a leading manufacturer of 1000L liquid liners incorporating its large range of produced fitments for the storage and transportation of liquid products within the dairy, food, toiletries/cosmetics, chemicals, and bio-services industries.
Peak Packaging has 2 manufacturing sites in the UK and Poland (both of which are BRC AA and FDA accredited), and has invested heavily in its factories and equipment over the last 5 years.
Liqui-Box is a leading innovator of sustainable packaging solutions for liquid and semi-liquid products. The Liqui-box range includes Bag-in-Box flexible packaging, fitments and pouches to serve a wide variety of global industries. Peak Packaging has acquired Liqui-box’s bag-in-box business with customers based in the UK.

The UK CMA formally accepted the undertakings with Liqui-box on 30th September 2019 concluding its investigation into the DS Smith acquisition. Liqui-box customers outside of the UK will continue to be served by Liqui-box from its site at Wythenshawe, Manchester. The supply by DS Smith/Rapak will be unaffected by the Peak Packaging acquisition.
