Investment at Peak Packaging UK
A programme of investment and development is well under way at the Peak Packaging UK site in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. Over the summer months the company started a series of building works to upgrade the production facility and prepare the site for the commissioning of new machinery. The timing of this investment coincides with the Company’s 25th anniversary, celebrated during the course of the year with a diary of events.
Over the past 20-plus years the Company has enjoyed steady sales growth of its industry accredited range of IBC liners and fitments, used for the transportation and storage of bulk liquid. The plastic liner is used inside bulk containers (IBCs) to form part of the bulk handling system which has become a cost effective alternative to the more traditional solutions such as drums and rigid containers. Using a liner eliminates the need for time consuming cleaning out of rigid containers and helps to prevent contamination of product during filling and discharge. Many producers in the food, dairy and toiletries industries have now adopted this bulk ‘bag-in-box’ system as standard.
In addition to developments in production, we have also invested in new sales premises. The UK sales team moved into offices at Marble Hall, Derby – the former Rolls-Royce Head Office – early in the summer and recruitment plans have started to complement the current team and to boost sales in international markets.
We are delighted with company developments which are set to take the business forward for the next 25 years!
